In November 2014, Uday Kotak closed a $2.4 billion deal with ING Vysya Bank, further consolidating his bank’s market position. In 2015, Kotak ventured into the general insurance business and partnered with Bharti Airtel to start a small payments bank.

Despite his significant ownership, Kotak was required to reduce his stake in the bank to comply with RBI regulations, bringing it down to 20%. He also ended a 14-year partnership with Goldman Sachs by acquiring a 25% stake in two subsidiaries for Rs. 72 million in 2019.
