Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi Dies in Tragic Helicopter Crash

Iranian state media confirmed the devastating news of President Ebrahim Raisi’s untimely death in a helicopter crash near Jolfa. Alongside Raisi, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollhian and several other high-ranking officials were aboard the ill-fated chopper, all of whom tragically perished in the accident that unfolded on Sunday.

The incident has sent shockwaves across Iran and beyond, casting a pall of mourning over the nation. President Raisi, who had recently assumed office, was known for his commitment to public service and his dedication to advancing Iran’s interests on the global stage. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei swiftly addressed the nation, announcing that First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber would step in as acting president until new elections could be organized within the next 50 days. Additionally, he declared a period of five days of national mourning to honor the memory of those lost in the accident.
