Rachel Delacour: Pioneering Leader in Carbon Management and Women in Tech

A trailblazer in carbon management and a champion for women in tech, driving sustainable innovation in Europe.

Rachel Delacour, born on August 31, 1979, in Pont-Audemer, France, is a distinguished entrepreneur and the Co-Founder and CEO of Sweep, Europe’s leading carbon management and reduction platform. With a strong foundation in finance and a deep commitment to sustainability, Rachel has established herself as a key figure in the European tech landscape.

Rachel’s academic journey began at Euromed Management, now known as Kedge Business School, where she graduated with a degree that equipped her with essential business acumen. Early in her career, she served as a management controller, gaining valuable experience in the purchasing departments of notable companies such as FM Logistic in Russia, Carrefour, and Bata.

In 2009, Rachel co-founded BIME Analytics, a groundbreaking business intelligence SaaS platform developed with her husband, Nicolas Raspal. This innovative company quickly gained recognition and was awarded the Eurocloud association’s Best Startup Award in 2011. BIME Analytics attracted significant investment from Alven Capital, ultimately being sold to Zendesk for $45 million in 2015, which marked a pivotal moment in Rachel’s career.

Following the acquisition, Rachel became the General Manager at Zendesk, where she continued to foster innovation and drive growth. However, her passion for addressing climate change led her to pivot her focus towards environmental sustainability. In 2021, Rachel co-founded Sweep, a platform designed to empower companies in measuring, tracking, and reducing their carbon emissions. Under her leadership, Sweep has raised nearly $100 million in its first year, reflecting the growing demand for effective carbon management solutions.

Rachel’s influence extends beyond her entrepreneurial ventures. She was elected co-President of France Digitale in 2018, advocating for the digital transformation of the French economy. Her thought leadership has been recognized in prestigious publications, including The Economist and The Wall Street Journal. A champion for women in tech, Rachel actively supports female-founded startups in both the US and France.

Her dedication to fostering innovation is further demonstrated through her involvement with initiatives like the Founders Program selection jury for the Station F startup incubator and the Intérêt à agir association. Additionally, Rachel has expressed interest in the space sector and has made strategic investments as a business angel in companies like MemoBank and Nabla. She also participated in the 2050 fund and the SPAC 2MX Organic.

Rachel Delacour’s dynamic career reflects her commitment to creating impactful change in the tech industry and addressing climate challenges. As she continues to lead Sweep and support fellow entrepreneurs, her vision for a sustainable future positions her as a pioneering force in both the tech and environmental sectors.
