In 1974, Sogeti made a strategic move by acquiring Gemini Computer Systems, a New York-based firm, marking the beginning of its expansion into international markets. This acquisition was pivotal as it facilitated Sogeti’s entry into the U.S. market.

The company rebranded as CAP Gemini Sogeti in 1975 after acquiring two additional companies, CAP (Centre d’Analyse et de Programmation) and Gemini Computer Systems. The U.S. operations launched in 1981, following the acquisition of DASD Corporation, which specialized in data conversion and had a significant workforce across various branches.

A New Era: Simplification and Major Acquisitions (1996-2000)

In 1996, the company streamlined its identity by shortening its name to Cap Gemini and updated its branding. The turn of the millennium saw Cap Gemini strengthen its market presence through the acquisition of Ernst & Young Consulting in 2000, creating Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, a pivotal moment that expanded its consulting capabilities.

Transformation into Capgemini SE (2001-Present)

In 2017, the company rebranded as Capgemini SE, reflecting its global status and integrated operations. Its ticker symbol on Euronext also changed from CAP GEMINI to CAPGEMINI, marking a new chapter in its corporate identity.

Capgemini has continued to evolve with the industry, acquiring LiquidHub in 2018 for $500 million to enhance its digital and cloud services in North America.
