He collaborates with the ‘Mijwan Welfare Society’– an NGO founded by Late Kaifi Azmi and led by Shabana Azmi and Namrata Goyal. Since 2010, he has been actively involved in initiatives like ‘Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric’, aiming to empower rural communities.

Malhotra has adopted the Kaifi Azmi Sewing and Embroidery Centre in Mijwan, creating employment opportunities for local women. Through ‘Chikankari by Mijwan Welfare Society’, he showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of Mijwan women, revitalizing the traditional craft with his contemporary design sensibility.
