Tombolini Recognised as an Italian Historic Brand, Expands Global Footprint

Italian menswear house Tombolini has received official recognition as an Italian historic brand of national interest, reinforcing its long-standing role in the country’s tailoring heritage. The designation was granted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, which honors companies that embody the excellence and continuity of Italian manufacturing.

The acknowledgment places Tombolini alongside other respected fashion names that have previously earned the distinction, highlighting the brand’s contribution to craftsmanship and industrial culture over more than six decades.

A Heritage Rooted in Italian Tailoring

Founded over 60 years ago in Colmurano, in Italy’s Marche region, Tombolini has built its reputation on refined menswear that blends tradition with modern construction. Inclusion in the Special Register of Historic Brands confirms the company’s cultural and entrepreneurial value, recognizing its role in safeguarding Italy’s sartorial identity.

Today, Europe remains Tombolini’s core market, accounting for around 70 percent of production, with Italy representing nearly half of total sales. The brand also maintains a strong international presence across the Middle East, North and South America, and Australia.

Financial Growth and International Expansion

The company closed 2024 with revenues of €13.5 million and expects to end 2025 with growth between 10 and 12 percent. Looking ahead, Tombolini projects a further 20 percent increase in turnover in 2026.

Supporting this momentum, the brand plans to open two new mono-brand stores next year in Astana and Tashkent, marking a strategic push into Central Asian markets.

Iconic Identity and Design Evolution

Tombolini’s distinctive dragon emblem was created by Eugenio Tombolini, inspired by the coat of arms of Urbisaglia, his hometown. Through a graphic reinterpretation, the traditional image of Saint George and the dragon was transformed into a single symbol, with tailoring scissors forming the dragon’s forelegs—a visual link between heritage and craft.

Autumn/Winter 2026–27 Collection Preview

The brand will showcase its upcoming autumn/winter 2026–27 collection at Pitti Uomo, hosted at the Fortezza da Basso from January 13 to 16.

Central to the collection is the Zero Gravity concept, highlighted by a lightweight overcheck bouclé coat with a half-belt and thermal lining, designed to balance structure and comfort. Layered pieces include a ribbed full-zip knit with a beaver fur collar in pure virgin wool, paired with clean-cut pleated trousers and understated accessories.

The line also introduces Zero Gravity tailoring in exclusive overdyed wool fabrics by Carlo Barbera, along with a double-breasted cashmere coat secured by a belt that emphasizes fluidity and modern elegance.

A Brand Bridging Past and Future

With institutional recognition now secured and international expansion underway, Tombolini continues to position itself as a modern guardian of Italian tailoring—one that respects heritage while adapting to global markets and contemporary lifestyles.
