François Jackow, born on June 12, 1969, in Paris, France, is a distinguished executive known for his transformative leadership as the Chief Executive Officer of Air Liquide, a global leader in industrial gases. He assumed the role on June 1, 2022, succeeding Benoît Potier, and has since steered the company with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Jackow’s academic journey began at the prestigious Lycée Henri-IV, where he laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors. He furthered his education at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand, where he attended the Classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles. In 1992, he graduated from the École Normale Supérieure with degrees in chemistry and biology. His academic prowess led him to Harvard University, where he obtained a Master of Arts in chemistry through a university exchange program. Additionally, he earned an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs in 1993, equipping him with a unique blend of scientific and managerial expertise.

His professional career began at L’Oréal in 1990 as an associate researcher, where he honed his skills in research and development. Following this, he took on the role of industrial risk consultant at Shell from 1991 to 1992, gaining insights into the oil industry.

In 1993, Jackow joined Air Liquide, marking the start of a remarkable tenure with the company. He quickly rose through the ranks, taking on various positions in business development and marketing across the United States and the Netherlands, particularly within the Large Industries and Engineering & Construction sectors. His strategic insight and leadership abilities led to his appointment as Vice President of Innovation in 2002, where he oversaw Research & Development and Advanced Technologies.

In 2007, Jackow was named President and CEO of Air Liquide Japan, based in Tokyo, and later became Vice President of the Large Industries World Business Line in 2011. His strategic vision was further recognized in 2014 when he joined the Executive Committee as Group Vice President of Strategy, playing a crucial role in developing the NEOS strategic plan and overseeing the successful acquisition of Airgas in 2016.

His influence within the company expanded significantly when he was appointed Executive Vice President in 2019, where he managed diverse operations across Europe, healthcare, and regions in Africa, the Middle East, and India. He also spearheaded initiatives in Innovation & Technologies and Digital & IT, alongside the Customer Development department, which he established in 2014. His leadership was particularly instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he was actively involved in the Group’s response efforts.
